The Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Process Engineer is responsible for improving production performance through loss elimination, process optimisation, and disciplined execution of standard work. You will work closely with Production, Engineering, QA, and Maintenance teams to analyse line performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement sustainable improvements that increase output, reduce spoilage, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). This is a hands-on role requiring strong analytical capability, a proactive mindset, and the ability to influence operational teams to drive meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities
Production Performance & Process Improvement
- Lead line loss analysis to identify and prioritise performance gaps
- Reduce spoilage and improve yield through structured problem-solving
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce variability
- Drive measurable improvements in OEE, waste reduction, and production costs
Continuous Improvement Projects
- Lead and execute plant-based improvement initiatives
- Deliver projects on time and achieve targeted operational outcomes
- Embed improvements into standard work practices to sustain results
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to implement solutions
Standardisation & Best Practice
- Implement and sustain global standard work practices
- Standardise processes across shifts and production lines
- Audit compliance and address gaps to standard
- Drive disciplined operating routines within production teams
Quality, Safety & Customer Focus
- Support consistent product quality through stable manufacturing processes
- Reduce customer complaints and process non-conformances
- Contribute to a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace
- Participate in risk assessments and process safety improvements
About You
- You are a results-driven engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys working closely with frontline teams to improve operational performance.
- 2–3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience driving process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to translate production data into practical operational actions
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- A collaborative approach when working across operations, maintenance, and technical teams
- A strong ownership mindset and commitment to delivering results
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or related discipline) or Science preferred
- Experience within beverage, packaging, FMCG, or can manufacturing environments highly regarded
