Design Assistant
Orora Packaging Solutions is looking to hire a Full Time Design Assistant to join and support our Design Team located in San Marcos, CA. Reporting directly to the Regional Design Manager, the ideal candidate must have a passion for bringing concepts to life! The Design Assistant must be creative, a quick learner, highly organized, detail oriented, and work well under tight deadlines. This role will collaborate directly with the Regional Design Manager and Team to assist the department in all aspect of the design process, as needed, with a major focus on the construction and management of samples and protypes. Key details of the role:

Requirements/Qualifications:
- A positive attitude is key!
- Ability to work independently.
- Organized, creative, collaborative, and independent.
- Ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Office/Outlook Suite (Microsoft: Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Hours are Monday-Friday: 8:00AM to 5:00PM. No remote work available.
- It's important that this person thrives in a fast-paced environment and can multi-task.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, be punctual and detail oriented.
Experience and Education:
- 0-1 years of packaging industry experience.
- High School Diploma; Some College (Preferred)
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and basic understanding of measurements using a tape measure or ruler.
Responsibilities:
- Creates high quality packaging prototypes using CNC equipment, manages prototype backlog.
- Assist protype reviews by gathering and prepping samples.
- Maintains clean work area and adheres to safety rules.
- Communicate effectively with Design Team on sample/protype project process.
- Check-in with Design Management/team for any additional support needed.
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Adhere to design calendar deadlines and timelines ensure all task are completed in a timely manner.
- Support Design team with maintaining documents, processing documents, organize records, shipping, and research as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
