The Role

Our Dandenong facility continuous to innovate and upgrade its plant. In 2023, we invested $80 million to bring in a new multi-size can line, and in 2025, we’re taking things to the next level with exciting new investments in packaging decoration and high-speed digital printing. This state-of-the-art, direct-to-shape digital printing solution is the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. This is a game-changer for the Oceania region packaging market!

 

We’re seeking an experienced and driven Production Manager to lead our high-performing manufacturing team in our Cans plant at Dandenong. You’ll play a critical role in delivering quality aluminium can products efficiently and safely – while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, team development, and operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of 4 direct and 36 indirect reports across shifts in a high-speed, multi-process production environment.
  • Partner with the Operations Manager to deliver on key business targets – safety, cost, quality, people, and production output.
  • Implement and drive best-practice manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee all aspects of production performance – managing labour, quality assurance, plant efficiency, and cost control.
  • Champion a proactive safety culture and environmental responsibility across all shifts.
  • Build and develop a flexible, high-performing team aligned to our company values and vision.
  • Drive strong communication and accountability across all levels of the production team.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Production Manager (or equivalent) in a fast-paced, process-driven manufacturing environment.
  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate the team
  • Deep knowledge of safety systems, quality standards, and continuous improvement tools (Lean, CI, etc.).
  • Mechanical or Electrical trade/tertiary qualifications preferred.
  • Experience managing production supervisors across 24/7 operations.
  • Background in medium to heavy industry (e.g. steel, paper, building products) highly regarded.
  • Key competencies – change management, problem solving, effective communicator and collaborator, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
