Safety Lead

The Role

The Safety Lead will collaborate with our site operations teams to ensure compliance with HSE requirements at our Canning Vale Can Manufacturing site. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, assisting with HSE incident investigations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing safety training programs. This is a 12-month fixed-term role.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and utilise regular communication channels to ensure a consistent, standardised approach to managing HS&E
• Monitor the implementation of HSE plans and ensure each project is on track and meets our goals
• Be the catalyst for change and educate our teams on HSE best practices
• Drive compliance to legal and company HS&E standards, while highlighting deficiencies and supporting improvement opportunities
• Coach and mentor our teams in HSE topics and participate in managing key HSE issues across the site
• Support the investigation of HSE incidents in a timely manner

About You

• Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health & Safety
• 5+ years of HSE experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience in implementing safety systems and processes, with exposure to incident investigation and management
• Proactive self-starter with a strong problem-solving mindset
• Collaborative team player & excellent communication skills
