The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Reliability Engineer with a strong focus on continuous improvement to join our manufacturing team at our beverage can production facility. As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production processes, with a primary emphasis on continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and optimizing manufacturing processes. 

  • Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptime and minimise maintenance costs. Conduct failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes and develop proactive maintenance plans.

  • Implement condition monitoring techniques and predictive maintenance technologies to assess the health of critical equipment and identify early signs of potential failures. Utilise data analytics and machine learning algorithms to predict equipment failures and optimize maintenance schedules.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality assurance to drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Act as a subject matter expert on reliability engineering principles and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.

  • Lead investigations into equipment failures and production interruptions to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Utilize analytical tools and methodologies to identify systemic issues and implement sustainable solutions.

  •  Provide training and support to plant personnel on reliability engineering principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and best practices for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting

 

About You

  • Engineering Degree qualification - in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Prior experience in a reliability, continuous improvement or project engineer role
  • Good understanding of continuous improvement principles and coaching teams through change
  • Ability to work with various stakeholders including the shop floor and senior leaders
  • Good problem solving and team work
