Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Press Feeder is to operate the feeder on the large format offset printing press.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate press based upon written instructions provided
- Works with press crew to ensure each job is produced to customer specifications, meeting internal and external deadlines
- Verify that stock matches job specs on ticket before loading press
- Transfer paper to and from machinery using industrial trucks or hand trucks
- Read and understand job tickets
- Monitor paper as it runs through the press
- Make adjustments to the operations to prevent paper jams
- Report the status of projects and any issues of machinery to the head press operator
- Follow all safety policies and regulations
- Assists in performing routine maintenance on the press with the press team members as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education, Skills, Experience & Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience as a Press Feeder
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure
- Ability to work independently as well as with a crew/team
- Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This job operates in a production environment. This role routinely uses standard equipment such as Presses and forklifts. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is
frequently required to stand; walk; sit; drive; and see.
