The Role: Operator 2, Finishing
 

Position Summary
The primary responsibility of an Operator 2 is to assist operator 1 in the finishing department Operator 2 is responsible for assisting the Operator 1 with make readies, press equipment operations, performing quality control functions.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist Operator 1 with make-ready and operate press based upon written instructions provided.
• Ensures each job is produced to customer specifications, meeting internal and external deadlines
• Verify that stock and inks match job specs on ticket.
• Read and understand job tickets for stock and color specifications.
• Perform press make ready, folder set ups, maintain press register and color.
• Perform quality pull sheet procedures according to Orora press SOP’s.
• Ensure samples are pulled and labeled according to Orora press SOP.
• Follow all safety policies and regulations.
• Assists in performing routine maintenance on the press with the press team members as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications
 

Education, Skills, Experience & Abilities:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience as an Operator 2
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a crew/team.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally.

 

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

 

Physical Demands
This job operates in a production environment. This role routinely uses standard equipment such as Presses and forklifts. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; drive; and see.
