The Role
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for Orora’s workforce while managing and improving payroll and timekeeping systems. This role combines hands-on payroll delivery with system administration to create a seamless, high-quality employee experience. This is a 12-month fixed term position.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile payroll via a managed service for salaried, award, and Enterprise Agreement employees in line with legislative and company requirements.
- Administer Orora’s Time & Attendance and payroll systems ensuring configuration accuracy, data integrity, and compliance.
- Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to manage system updates, testing, and integrations.
- Identify, document, and implement process or system enhancements to improve efficiency and employee experience.
- Provide Tier 1 user support and training on payroll and time systems, maintaining clear SOPs and user materials.
- Ensure payroll tax, superannuation, and reporting obligations are met accurately and on time.
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in payroll processing across complex employment types (EBAs, Award Covered & Award Free)
- Experience as a System Administrator with Time & Attendance, Payroll and HRIS systems
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, and Enterprise Agreements.
- Advanced MS Excel skills (VLookups, Pivot Tables, formulas) and excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication, and stakeholder engagement skills with a focus on continuous improvement
