Our Dandenong facility continuous to innovate and upgrade its plant. In 2023, we invested $80 million to bring in a new multi-size can line, and we’re not stopping there. In 2025, we’re taking things to the next level with exciting new investments in packaging decoration and high-speed digital printing. We’re installing the Velox Digital Printer — a state-of-the-art, direct-to-shape digital printing solution, the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. This is a game-changer for the Oceania region primary packaging market, and it’s happening right here in Dandenong! The Role:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Day Shift Fitter is a member of the Engineering Team, who will provide technical services to the engineering department by performing maintenance of machinery, equipment, and services on site to meet site objectives. The Day shift Fitter will also purse mechanical maintenance improvements and drive a high-quality culture and standard. This is a day shift role, working Monday to Friday with the opportunity for overtime.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventative maintenance according to site requirements.
  • Troubleshoot machines and equipment by making assessments of problems and estimating duration of time to repair.
  • Respond to machine breakdowns and take corrective action promptly.
  • Report production or machine problems and issues through the computerised defect systems.
  • Use of computerised maintenance systems, PM check sheets, schematic drawings, technical manuals etc.
  • Demonstrate an exemplary safety ethic and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the plant.
  • Other duties as requested by the Engineering Manager and Electrical Supervisor.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Trade Qualification – Maintenance Fitter, advanced certificate welcomed.
  • Previous experience in fault finding automated machinery.
  • A good understanding of Mechanical systems, motors, pumps, conveyors, compressors, and air systems
  • Proven attention to detail and working to fine tolerances.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Capacity to work autonomously.
  • Strong safety focus
  • High speed manufacturing and advantage
