Commercial Manager - Parental Leave 12 month contract

The Role

The Commercial Manager will join our team on a 12-month fixed-term to provide parental leave cover. This is a pivotal role within our finance department, offering the right candidate a unique opportunity to engage closely with our dynamic sales team, and play a crucial role in pricing strategies, financial reconciliations, and commodities management.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the sales team to develop and implement pricing strategies that align with company goals.
• Oversee and manage daily financial operations and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Responsible for hedging and foreign exchange transactions, with the support of the treasury team, to minimise financial risks.
• Manage the financial accounting for the head office, including preparing monthly financial reports and year-end financial statements.
• Coordinate with site accountants and oversee additional financial tasks that fall outside their scope.
• Ensure effective risk management of commodities, including purchasing and financial coverage.
• Continuously assess and improve financial procedures and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in a commercial finance role, preferably in a large manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting, reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with foreign exchange, hedging strategies, and commodities management.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret financial data to make business recommendations.
