Vice President of Business Development
Position Summary
Orora Packaging Solutions is seeking a Vice President of Business Development (VP of Business Development), Manufactured Products. This position will lead the Manufactured Products Sales and Marketing function and the group vice presidents. The incumbent will be responsible for planning and directing all aspects of the organization’s corrugated growth strategy to include setting sales targets and marketing goals. This position will report to the Manufactured Products Leader.
Reports to: SVP of Integrated Supply Chain
Location: Hybrid (Preferably California or West Coast)
Travel Requirement: Up to 30% (Western region)
FSLA Status: Exempt
What You'll be Responsible For
The Vice President of Business Development will set and be responsible for pricing strategy, pricing management, developing new marketing initiatives, assessing new markets, and analyzing/growing business opportunities, all geared toward transforming our business from catching orders towards selling our capacity profitably. Reporting directly to the Manufactured Products P&L Leader, the VP of Business Development will enable sales professionals to aggressively pursue new opportunities and cultivate expanded sales within new and existing direct and indirect channels.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Build, implement and enforce a value and contract-based pricing strategy that will drive and support growth, as well as protect margin.
- Transform and build a sales and marketing organization geared toward selling capacity through growing and/or developing profitable market segments.
- Establish and execute a strategy on how much and what contracted work will provide stability in volume while balancing price and profit.
- Build or adopt methodologies, practices, tools, and incentive programs that advance sales efficiency and forecast accuracy.
- Partner with the Orora, VP of Marketing and Sustainable Design to implement advanced marketing collateral, digital lead generation, web presence, and CRM.
- Understand the market and competitive landscape. Become well versed in RISI, FBA, and other industry organizations to provide insights and forecasting of what is happening in the market.
- Use analytics to synthesize sales and marketing data and provide Orora leadership with timely, new business forecasts and trend projections.
- Use data and tools to accurately identify the “Total Addressable Market” (TAM) and “Sellable Addressable Market” (SAM).
- Ensure the accuracy of CRM; drive usage and develop metrics to measure pipeline size, shape, and ensure velocity supports the growth plan.
- Monitor, disposition, and drive for maximum integrated account profitability.
- Create and manage key performance indicators to show the health of our business from a sales and marketing point of view.
- Measure the voice of the customer and provide continuous improvement feedback to our organization. Use the VOC to improve our business in sales, customer service, and operations.
- Develop sales plans to ensure the business meets financial goals and objectives.
- Work in partnership with functional stakeholders to establish business requirements, prioritize projects, and deploy initiatives. Ensure that project/department milestones and goals are achieved.
- Participate in development of Orora businesses operational strategies and initiatives.
- Establish sales budget and ensure achievement.

What We're Looking For
Education and Experience:

- BS/BA Degree from an accredited university/college, preferably in business, marketing, product management, business management or supply chain operations; MBA preferred
- 15+ years progressive functional and strategic experience across sales leadership, marketing, business development, technology collaborations and business unit P&L responsibilities

- Strong business acumen, with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering results
- Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership, with strong abilities in relationship management
- Demonstrated leadership and development of multidiscipline, high-performance work teams/groups
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
- Advanced, data driven decision making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead and drive change
- Ability to quickly establish credibility through all levels of the organization
- Executive presence and ability to present complex business and technical information to senior leadership teams with authority and credibility
- Demonstrated ability to function in a matrixed environment and deliver results with direct and indirect influence
