The Role:

Director, Manufacturing Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)



Summary of Role and How You’ll Fit In


The Director, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for conducting financial analysis, modeling, forecasting and reporting efforts to ensure efficient financial operations. In this role, the Director, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will work with the manufacturing leadership team, manufacturing controllership team, and Vice President of FP&A.   


This position reports to the: Director of Finance Manufacturing

OPS Travel Requirement: up to 20%

FLSA Status: Exempt


Key Responsibilities


Budgeting and Forecasting 

  • Lead strategic analysis and support the strategic planning process
  • Manage budgets and track financial activity of the organization
  • Update forecast with risks and opportunities to current plan
  • Outline and implement company-wide budget plans
  • Perform data analysis to strategically forecast financial trends
  • Build a team and inject FP&A skill throughout the finance organization


Decision Support

  • Analyze and interpret financial data and present the information with reports and presentations to the management team
  • Collate, prepare, and interpret reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries and financial statements
  • Develop and manage financial systems/models
  • Perform business modelling and risk assessments
  • Analyze historical financials
  • Analyze and validate cost standards
  • Assess spending and work to reduce costs
  • Interpret variance to Plan and Historical Results
  • Collaborate with procurement to identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Develop, Measure, and Report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)


Special projects


  • Process optimization: improve data transparency, reporting availability, and quality of information
  • Capital allocation and budget management: track spend and projects as well as manage forecast
  • Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as requested




Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business or other related field
  • 10+ years’ of progressive responsibility within a finance organization
  • FP&A leadership experience
  • Proven ability to influence across functions and level
  • Experience with high growth, fast-paced businesses
  • Superior analytical skills


Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • FP&A leadership experience within a high transactional business
  • Experience in a Manufacturing business
  • Planning and Consolidation Tool Experience (preferably BPC)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Technologically savvy
