Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Fitter/Mech will be responsible for performing on-going maintenance of machinery, breakdown repairs to equipment and services on site to assist in meeting or exceeding site objectives. The role will actively pursue electrical maintenance improvements in order to achieve production targets and improve plant uptime while promoting an exemplary safety ethic.

This is a day shift role, working Monday to Friday with the opportunity for overtime.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct preventative maintenance according to Maintenance strategy
  • Respond to machine breakdowns and take corrective action promptly
  • Troubleshoot machines and equipment by making an assessment of a particular problem and estimating duration of time to repair
  • Carry out root cause analysis if required
  • Install, disassemble, assess, repair and reassemble machines, equipment and components
  • Connect services where required
  • Assist in the training and knowledge transfer to new starters and existing team
  • Liaise with relevant personnel to ensure that all activities are conducted accurately and where problems arise, they are resolved promptly.
  • Complete project improvement works

What We’re Looking For

 

  • Trade Qualification – Electrical Mechanic Licence or equivalent
  • Plc, Variable Speed Drive and Instrumentation experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • Previous maintenance experience (preventative and corrective)
  • Strong problem-solving ability to troubleshoot control systems, processes and mechanical faults on equipment
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, health and the environment
  • A desire to learn new things

 

In conjunction with the above, the successful applicant will possess strong communication skills, have a high level of initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude. Being able to work as part of a team as well as independently is imperative as is experience within a maintenance team environment.
